Aroma of Zanzibar starting to materialize

Tafadhali Karibuni, Please welcome one and all

In this blog I hope to share the some of authentic and original recipes that I have grown up with and some that I have picked along the way.

I started cooking since I was about 7 or 8 and by the time I was 11 I was cooking full meals for the family. I have enjoyed experimenting different recipes from various cultures and always challenge myself to the next level.

Cooking has always been my passion though I never realized that I had that special gift , thanks to my husband and my mother in law who always praised my style of cooking; my brother a great critic and my sister in law Deanna always inspired and motivated me to do something new. I knew I wanted to do something that associated me with food but I never knew what, a chef, a critic or a food writer etc..etc

I came up with the name Aroma of Zanzibar since when I was in Dubai sometime in 2003.Basically I loved the word "Aroma" I found it to be very rich and authentic in my own way, it was actually from one of my very good friend home address which was "Aroma Villa" so somehow I needed to use the word Aroma and I think it fits perfectly with Zanzibar being the spice Island definitely has spice aromas in the air.

My recipes and menus have grown deeper and I will be sharing with you as I go. Most of my recipes are created to suit my family taste buds, they also remain authentic. They are spicy but not hot and they vary from Africa, Indian, Middle Eastern and all sorts of taste and styles. There's something for everyone at every level. Having mentioned that; here's my link to facebook page that has my baked goods  https://www.facebook.com/aboutgoodfood

Just starting to post on to my different sites. Soon I will have more photos and content so you can benefit from my recipe collection and creations.

Step two is taken.. and now to move on :)
